Okay, so, yays, it’s Hiku’s contest time!
This contest is to draw my novel characters {well, some of them}; they all have their themes, but you can do what you want. Traditional, digital, pixel. It's all allowed. <3 As long as you try, it’s fine.

24, Leo, Unemployed
Bio;
Henri Davenport once worked in a quite little bookstore in Manhattan, living in his own little world with girlfriend Jennifer Farrows, until strange things started happening to him. He begins to get strange phone calls that don’t make sense, and feels as if an entity is following him around. When things begin to get out of control, he comes to the conclusion that death is after him and locks himself in his apartment, staying with his pet rat Sherry, and refusing to come out.
Persona;
Henri is quite naïve for his age, often avoiding an argument or responsibility. He doesn’t like to know he’s an inconvenience to people and a lot of the time he feels he ruins everything. He’s known to be clumsy, and sensitive, but he as his strong moments. He’s a deep thinker, though slow on the outside, he sometimes needs a bit of a hint to get things. He never means wrong by anyone, but since his encounters with the unknown, he’s becoming more and more unlike himself. He doesn’t like people calling him crazy, and gets very offended when they do, often getting aggressive and arrogant if the problem arises.
Interests;
Books, puzzles, being with friends, science, the paranormal, and his ratty, Sherry.
Appearance;
Henri has blue eyes, his hair is a light blond, and he’s generally clean shaven. He likes light clothing; plain white t-shirt with a light blue overjacket, along with semi-baggy blue/grey jeans, with casual sneakers. He’s average height.
Colours;
Light blues/greys, whites.
Misc;
He loves his little albino rat Sherry, who’s a little on the plump side due to being over-loved.
Theme;
Insanity. Sleep. Escapist.

Late 30s, Capricorn, Police Officer
Bio;
Gareth Kingsley was once part of another world – a world fighting a major war. Gareth, after being convinced by his best friend, Arramist, was lured into fighting for his land. When Gareth is caught drunk with Arramist’s wife one day, Arramist does everything in his power to destroy him mentally. Gareth soon loses his position as a commander, and is blackmailed into leaving his world and banished to the human world, where he works as a cop in Manhattan. He, now learning what it’s like to be mortal, loses interest in his personal wellbeing in order to protect others.
Persona;
Gareth is a strong being. He’s very proud, and loves to be the hero (hence explaining why he chose his job). His cocky attitude makes him seem overbearingly arrogant, but he means well. He adores the ladies and likes to flirt on an occasion or two, and is friendly when drunk. He is loyal to friends, encourages others to be strong, and will swallow his pride in times of need to help someone – even if that be an old acquaintance who stands on shaky ground. Though, like all people, he has his moments.
Interests;
Martial arts, cars, alcohol, his job, friends and family.
Appearance;
Gareth has shaggy, golden brown hair, sort of naturally streaked. He has brown eyes, and has beard stubble due to the fact he’s too lazy to shave. He likes to wear casual clothes when out of police uniform, such as tight t-shirts, regular guy jeans, boots, etc. He’s quite tall and muscular.
Colours;
Aquas/greens, dark blues/red.
Misc;
He has a thing for getting drunk on (many) occasions. He had a German Shepard named Hawke {[link] which he once loved dearly. He looks a bit like aaron eckhart, but with that occassional scruffiness like jared leto. xD

Lila
15, Gemini
Bio;
Adopted by the Jennings at seven years old after an accident and was found by a fisherman, hardly able to remember anything of her family. Years later, Lila can’t help but be curious about her origins. After she starts to have strange and constant dreams about a hawk, dove and raven, she thinks of it as some sort of hint.
When she finally finds her family, they appear to be hellbent on keeping their past silent, on occasion, Lila hasn’t even felt welcome in her family, especially when her sister Lucia hasn’t shared a moment of her past. She starts to contemplate going back to her foster family.
Persona;
Serene, happy, caring, always looking out for a friend. Very sensitive, and is easily upset by words. Has a simple sense of humour and loves to be around people. She can be easily scared/weirded out, and is easily confused by anything that doesn't have a proper explanation. She is also quite moody, and takes a while to get out of a tantrum, but that’s on rare occasion, or at least she holds it inside.
Interests;
Animals, forests, reading books, writing, daydreaming.
Appearance;
Lila is an average height, small frame, with short, flicky, golden-blonde hair and brown eyes. She likes wearing any light colours and likes to wear nice, flowing cotton dresses. Other than that, she likes wearing singlet tops and her beige skirt with sandals or boots. She isn’t much of a jeans person, either.
Colours;
Greys, beiges, dark browns, crème.
Misc;
She likes to wear flowers in her hair, and has a little pendant.

Lucia
15, Gemini
Bio;
One of Dratha and Arramist’s daughters, the surviving one. After suffering abuse from her older brother, she finally feels relieved that “the monster has gone away.” She is now a shy and reserved girl, who is having trouble coping with people at school that bully her. When her sister, Lila, returns, Lucia feels uncomfortable with her sister’s curiosity.
Persona;
Lucia is a very personal being, not talking much about anything. From her upbringing, she feels it’s something shameful to cry, and therefore tries to hide her emotions, but it usually gets the best of her. She’s more sensitive than anything and that contributes to her self-esteem, which is average. She aspires to be someone, but she’s so confused that she doesn’t know what she wants to be, and that’s what stops her every time.
Interests;
Gardening, music, animals, cooking.
Appearance;
Lucia has longer, darker hair than her sister (it’s usually in a plait) and has light-ish brown eyes. She likes to wear ¾ length skirts and decorated singlet tops. She’s usually quite smiley yet silent, trying to mask her sadness.
Colours;
Purples, light blues, crème.
Misc;
She used to talk to a raven that visited their house until her father told her off for it.
Theme;
Hiding. No more monsters. Make believe.

Gabriel
26, Cancer, Doctor
Bio;
Things changed for university student Gabriel Muller the day he woke up after blacking out the night before, only to be in a completely different place, and in a wreck. Over the course of a week, Gabriel noticed things that made him despise his friends – even see them as threats. After hearing a joke from his best friend about his love interest, Mietta, he starts to think everyone’s against him and it eventually drives him to insanity. And, things get weirder, it doesn’t seem like he’s a human anymore… He almost seems… zombie-like, more and more each day. As his own feelings fade away, he then murders his friends, and flees his home country (Germany) to America.
Persona;
Gabriel, in his human days, always had trouble with being overly social, always wanting to be more personal with people than sociable. When he trusted someone, he expected them to never do anything wrong by him, and he’d get angered if they did such things. He was generally calm, artistic, and kind-hearted towards people he held close to his heart, seeming there weren’t many. When he was angry he was dark, unlike himself, and that always worried his friends. Now, however…
Interests;
Reading, the medical field, surgery, music, arts.
Appearance;
Gabriel looks something like a zombie at times (not really the stereotypical kind, more like “I’m not there” look, along with looking sleep deprived). He generally has stubble, but can be clean shaven, depending on how lazy he is. He has a thing for wearing a creepy smile, but most of the time he’s quite calm. Depending if he wants to disguise himself, he wears different things on different occasions. He wears dull coloured shirts and jackets to suits, if he wants to; he suits many different forms of attire. His skin is pale and he has hazel eyes and chestnut brown hair, which is sort of wavy/messy.
Colours;
Crimson, Dark orange, grey blues.
Misc;
He has a regular handgun he carries with him everywhere, he’s also left handed.
Theme;
Blood. Dead inside. Ill minded.

Raphael
18, Scorpio
Bio;
While growing up, Raphael experiences strange “moments” where he hears voices, it claims to be his true father. Raphael, listening to this, begins to despise Arramist and his sisters, though still having feelings for his mother. In a “moment”, Raphael lures one of his sisters, Lila, outside one evening. She disappears, and he is blamed when she never returns.
Persona;
A very detached boy. He doesn't care for anyone or anything outside his own barrier of values. He seems to have a "doesn't care" attitude constantly, expecting people to listen to everything he has to say when he refuses to listen to anyone. He’s easily angered and won’t back down in an argument until he’s won – no matter what he has to do, and dwells on the subject for a long time. He likes to be the centre of attention and likes causing trouble, but hates it when he’s caught. The only person he really cares about is his mother, and she’s hardly around for him.
Interests;
Causing trouble, building things, reading factual books, spending time with his mother and irritating his father.
Appearance;
Tall, quite slim, dark hair (barely past the ears) and light blue eyes. His face is quite long, and he usually has an expression of either pride or arrogance, a lot like his father. For normality, he wears casual dark clothing; hoodies, jeans, etc.
Colours;
Dark greens/reds, grey, black.
Misc;

Alice
13, Gemini
Bio;
Daughter of Aristotle Gale, who ends up running away when her mother is killed and meets Lorraine, she then goes under a guise in a French circus with Lorraine in order to escape her father. When she begins to have dreams of her father committing suicide, Allison feels horrible and decides to search for him.
Persona;
Allison is a girl with low self-esteem, thanks to her father, and thinks she will never amount to anything or have anyone admiring her in any way whatsoever. She is shy, but in the end, all she’d really want is a friend. Though when treated in a certain manner – she can get spiteful. Being raised by her father, she feels that same snobbish feeling towards others, but it’s only to make herself feel better. Due to her “upbringing”; Allison is capable of taking care of herself to an extent.
Interests;
Playing piano, gardening, writing, schoolwork.
Appearance;
Has a smallish, round face with long dark crimson-violet hair (dyed, actually brunette) and hazel eyes. She wears dresses, mainly summer clothing, and likes dark colours and cute accessories. She wears knee socks with school shoes, and almost always carries an expression of uncertainty/restlessness.
Colours;
Violet, deep magenta/crimson.
Misc;
She’s afraid of dogs/wolves/canines and likes roses (they make her think of her mother).
Also, the ears in the ref are optional. xD

Gareth is hunting for Gabriel, who’s been accused of murders in the area.
Raphael hates Gareth for flirting with his mother.
Lila and Lucia may be sisters, but Lucia still feels a little uncomfortable with her sister suddenly reappearing out of the blue and wanting to know everything that’s happened in the past.
Raphael has always been jealous of his sisters, and doesn’t like them very much, but doesn’t hate them either.
Alice has a fascination with Raphael.
